Press Release: Defending against the ISIS terrorists is a religious obligation

New York – According to a religious decree issued on June 13, 2014 by Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Hussaini al-Sistani, waging a defense against the bloodshed and destruction perpetrated by terrorists in Iraq during the past couple of weeks is Wajib e Kifai . This means that defending against the ISIS terrorists is an obligation which is imposed on the Muslims who are living in the immediately affected areas as a whole; and if it is fulfilled by them, then the obligation is considered fulfilled by the rest of the Muslims around the world.

This bloody and dastardly scheme was long in the making and its instigators, Saudi Arabia, along with its underlings in the Gulf States as well as Turkey were found to be equal accomplices in this heinous crime against humanity. Elements in Saudi Arabia, while grappling with the failure of their similar policies in Lebanon and Syria, have constructed this campaign of terror in Iraq and are bent upon toppling the regime of Nuri Kamal Al-Maliki, the current Prime Minister of Iraq. Following is a report by CNN that discusses the role of Saudi Arabia and other gulf states in funding ISIS.

Sheikh Fadhel Al-Sahlani, the North American Representative of Ayatollah Sistani is currently in the Middle East and has accepted to be the point man as well as the liaison between the office of the Sayyid Sistani and the Shi’a Muslim communities of North America.

Shia Public Affairs Committee (ShiaPAC) that was created five years ago for the exclusive mission of combating the defamation, discrimination and persecution of the Global Shi’a Muslim Community will continue to keep our various populous segments abreast of all developments relating to Iraq, Syria, Pakistan, Lebanon and other Muslim lands. The Mo’mineen are encouraged to make generous financial contributions so that the ShiaPAC can formulate and execute potent lobbying strategies around western capitals, provide financial assistance to effected families in Iraq, Syria and Pakistan and galvanize the ummah in launching massive protests with respect to these mayhems.
